And the findings were sobering: Every single hour of television watched after the age of 25 reduces the viewer’s life expectancy by 21.8 minutes.

By comparison, smoking a single cigarette reduces life expectancy by about 11 minutes, the authors said.

I have to say, it does feel like you are wasting your life watching some of the crap thats on TV nowadays, Apart from Homeland, there is nothing decent on all of my 900 channels. :):):)

True .They were dire and I am now listening to someone on Sky saying the players will be tired after that game so it may affect them in the week end games. FGS I thought these blokes were supposed to be athletes:rolleyes: They are such bloomin wimps compared to the tennis players....

Very interesting article. I have to say I'm a bit of a telly addict, (although I'm also an avid reader as well).

I could spend endless hours rewatching episodes of Six Feet Under, Ally McBeal, Band of Brothers, Friends, to name a few!

And then there's Wimbledon!!!

Oh, Nutmeg, I used to love Ally McBeal. Friends,Sopranos and Ashes to Ashes are all favourites too.

I am an avid reader too. I have a "read" every afternoon for an hour or so. I usually have 5 mins reading and an hour asleep! At the moment am busy knitting - rediscovered this skill after my grandsons were born. Keeps the hands occupied when you fancy a cig. xxxx
