Has it only been 2 months since I started this quit, sometimes it feels like 2 years!
There've been times of frustration, even irrational sadness, when I've been plagued by the urge to smoke a cigarette but I have resisted temptation, usually by just taking a few deep breaths and counting to 100 which is the time I imagine it would take to smoke one.
However, I can say it is getting easier and it feels good not to be smoking anymore.
So. lets see what month 3 brings.............

Thanks everyone for your support and your kind words.
I am so pleased to have got this far, I know I've still got a long way to go.
Giving up smoking is so strange - I can go for days without giving smoking a thought but there are still times when I would love a cigarette. I was talking to a friend who has been quit for almost 4 years and she says that the same applies to her, she knows she cannot risk smoking another cigarette.
I now just accept that these tempting times will occur from time to time (I wish they wouldn't though) and I just wait for them to pass, they always do.
There is no way I will go back to smoking again, the benefits of quitting are worth all the effort - I just wish I'd had the sense not to start in the first place.
I'm not a great 'poster' but I do 'read' a lot and this forum and the people on it have helped me so much.
