Just want to start by saying thanks to everyone on this forum it has really helped me reading replies and reading other peoples threads :)

Today has been the hardest I had a big urge to go and buy a pack.

I woke up in a great mood... I looked out the window and it was poring with rain which made me happy because usually I would be stood outside in that.

So that was a moment of pleasure.

I haven't masterd how to cope with normal sittuations again yet. That was what made me want to light up today. I'm unhappy in my current place, location well lifestyle in general. I usually play up to this charecter which isn't me. I end up acting dumb clumzy silly guy. I've always hated going along with that because it's not who I am.

I think aswell I'm more on edge right now so tention is high at all times and I can't be bothered with anything that annoyes me.

Sorry I'm rambling on abit today. The last 2 days I felt really good because I was making this positive choice, now today I feel low because I'm miserable with other parts of my life.

I would love to light up right now, I have the blissful image in my head of it and the feeling afterwards.

I know though i'd regret it and I'm staying strong! I guess I can make all this into a positive and start looking to move forward in my personal life aswell. I just hate being here and playing the clown :(

Day 3 was hardest for me too

I found day 3 the hardest day of all. I wonder if anyone else has found day 3 the hardest/most challenging?

I can honestly honestly say that the first week is the hardest week (as far as my experience goes and I know others have said the same) and day 3 is the hardest in that week.

You've done fab so far ignoring the physcial addiction and coping with the withdrawal from nicotine; however, you're now coming under assault from the psychogical addiction which as far as I'm concerned is a seperate entity, has a life of it's own and is out to get you!!! That may sound paranoid, but it is a healthy way of viewing it, and if you ignore it enough times and don't give in to it - like a naughty child it steps up the game for a while but eventually gives up!

Keep going, you're half way there... half way to getting the first week over.

Hey Warrior.Well done for completing day 3! Smoking does not solve any problems or make life better or easier and you know that. All it does is release you from the urge/craving to smoke until the next fag and the next and the next and the next ad infinitum. Each cigarette reinforcing the urge to smoke. Its a vicious cycle and if you dont want to be trapped you have got to break the chain. It just shows you how much its got you hooked already and poisoned your mind and body-your feeling drained/depressed etc.Stick with it-it will get easier. All the best x

You will learn new coping strategies, it will get easier... I think when we take on something like quitting smoking we show the desire to improve our life in general.... we start to look at ourselves and we see areas we need to change, improve.... it's all good, not always easy, but good.... so keep looking at the areas that give you discontent and be brave to make changes for the better. Don't really think there's anything wrong with being a clown though ;)

Thanks all. I know theres so many times to come when I have to face the mental tortue.

When I'm annoyed,

When I'm socal drinking,

etc etc...

I guess it takes time to get used to just living day to day life without cigarettes.

That's the hard part I think - the normal day to day stuff. You're doing great, you really are.

All the best

They are all trigger points Warrior, but each time you get past them they become easier next time. The mental torture does go as not smoking becomes more normal than smoking.

I smoked for 31 years, and days 4 and 8 of my quit were the hardest two days I had. I achieved 8 months yesterday and don't crave at all anymore. I never thought that day would come but it has.

Remember, craves won't kill you, but smoking certainly could. Use NOPE - Not One Puff Ever. Eventually your brain and mind will adjust and not smoking will become normal.

Besides all that, with a name like Warrior you just can't be seen to fail can you?

Warriors, come out to playeeeee! (It's from one of my all time favourite films - do you know it?)

Keep on keeping on, down the yellow quit road :D

Thanks Captain! I like your name to. I'm glad I picked this name now as like u said I can't be seen failing with the warrior spirit haha.

Well today was hard not because of withdrawal but just hard day in general and I'm used to lighting up. Also from quits in the past I never wrote down what my goal was (I think it makes a huge difference todo that) also coming here multiple times aday to get what I think out of my head really helps.

I'd never heard of that film before but watching it now :)

Thanks haha
