hi all i joined this forum today after reading through some very inspirational posts! .... i have smoked between 20-30 a day for the last 16 years. I have been using patches for 21 days but have decided today that i am going to take the patch off as of tomorrow. I have lots of support at home, i have a supportive husband and 3 wonderful children all cheering me on but today was my worst day by far :(

i woke with an extreme craving that seems to have lasted for most of the day, no matter what i have done i have not been able to take my mind off having a smoke but i have managed not to have one, and thats mainly due to reading through everyones post on here and realising i am not alone :D

I have also been readin allen carrs easyway to quit smoking and would ask for peoples opinions on this book?...i like the way he states that nicotine is a drug addiction and the only reason why we see it as a pleasure is because when we are smoking we are temporarily relieving a craving and that gives the illusion of smoking being pleasurable

anyway nice to be a part of this fab online community and wish everyone all the luck and energy for the battle against the evil one.... nicotine! :D

Hi.. Well done on quitting and quitting the patch 2. It's bin 3 weeks since iv gone CT from the patch and for me it felt like I had to quit all over again. So I'm glad I took it off when I did. Iv had craves kind of bad theses last few days my self. So bin chewing lots of chewing gum. I did skim thru Alan carrs book but I didn't really like it. Because I think everyone's quit is different and no book can tell me what to expect really.. No book or nurse told me about anyof the symtomes I got. I only found out that there wasn't anything medically wrong with me when I joined this forum.

Well done for quitting if u need out just pist up here someone will help you
