Well im 30 (nearly 31) and been smoking for around half of that time
Had my las cigarette tonight, finished the last of the tobacco, thrown the rizlas and tips and thats me going to bed tonight as a smoker for the last time!
My main reason is my health over the last few months i have an increasingly irrtating tickly cough, last 2 weeks i swear all i do is wheeze and rattle Not good at my age, been docs and although given antibiotics, he says no infection and chest clear, so it simply the cigs making me feel so shite !! Well as of tonight they can do one, gone, finito, adios, ive had enough!!!!
Wish me luck

Good luck, not that you need it cos you sound like you really want this & that's the best attitude to have... You are still young too, so your body will heal & you'll be running marathons at 40 unlike me who left it till I can hardly breath climbing stairs & making beds & i'm only 47!!
So happy for you & your quit, always remember that one drag always leads to a pack a day...

Hi Rach & Good Luck! You have defo come to the right place. I'm on day 4 & had the cough of a 60yr old (I'm 35) & already feel 1000% better thanks to this forum! :D
Thats my fear lily, the dreaded copd and if nothing else is going to keepo me determined to change its the thought of preventing getting that and other breathing conditions, although i dont know running marathons will ever be my thing haha
Hi Leeroy, thats positive about your cough, i hope mine gets better too, im nearly 24 hours in and got to admit even though it sounds daft iv not coughed half as much today and am soo much less wheezy too! So it confirms for me that the health problems have been down to the evil cigs!
Day one was weird i seem to have more time on my hands and not sure what to do with that extra time?????? TOday i spent the extra time....doing nothing haha, need to substitute the time i would have spent smoking doing something more useful i think! Must admit i have bought some gum just incase i got an overwhelming craving, good god how awful is that stuff, yuck i was nearly sick it tastes terrible so will be a strong craving before i try another piece x
Hey Rach! Congratulations on reaching your 24 hrs!! As you prob know your body is going through some amazing changes for the good although it may not seem like it. If you find you have extra time I recommend keeping logged into this forum, it's been amazing support & help over the last few days & keeps me focused on what I am going to achieve.... A smoke free life!! Good luck for day 2, if you need to rant at anyone, please feel free to rant at me!
ooh leeroy im a good ranter you may regret making that offer, thanks soo much for the support its really aqppreciated! Thats one thing that has been fascinating me how quick the body heals and recovers, really is amazing ! x
With that kind of attitude you will be successful! I see several members here have smoked some pretty insane amounts of cigs a day and were able to quit! You can do it!
