Wheezing and hacking cough after 30yrs smoking i could not stand the morning coffee & cough start up anymore, so quitting the fags was the only option for me that was 8weeks ago & i feel so much better in my chest, even went & got checked out by the doctor & had a chest x ray sadly i have COPD but its not to late to live a more healthy life,so i guess for me i want to live more than meet that sad end of having oxygen pushed into my lungs:)

Well done Lilly:)

It was the night time cough that peed me off.

Laying in bed for 10 minutes or so coughing and trying to get rid of that wheezing/whistle in my chest before i could get to sleep.

That went after only a few days of giving up so i was surprised how quick your body starts to repair itself.

That wheezing/whistle as you described it worried me. Plus the fact it reminded me of some heavy smoker in their 70's. I'm 39 and new i had to quit. As you say it clears up pretty quick.
