Hi all, I'm using champix to quit & i'm on my second day today
I'm just a bit worried because i'm still feeling really tired, i'm usually running around like a lunatic but i've got no energy  Also I've been coughing & clearing my throat non stop today
I'm hoping this is all just normal due to the champix but any advice would be great.
I'm also avoiding being around people & like to be just left alone - am I going mad:confused:
Denise.

i havent used champix but have read other posts and it can cause tiredness
the coughing is perfectly normal your lungs are clearing out all the years of tar its a good thing
avoiding people if it helps then go for it watever helps you then you do it i personally didnt want to be on my own and was a right baby but i got through so thats all that matters
I'm not sure it's even related to the champix. Cigarettes are a stimulant. When you stop smoking it can mess with your sleep patterns big time (in both ways - some people can't sleep, some sleep all the time, disturbed dreams are pretty common too). And the coughing as well is totally normal, as all the little cilia inside your lungs are beginning to wake up after being flattened under all that tar and crap. Not everybody coughs, but lots do.
Give your body a chance to iron these things out. It will fling all sorts of symptoms at you in the first few days, just try and weather the storm. It's all worth it.
Thanks for the replies, must admit the champix are deffo working - hardly even thought of cigarettes today
