Still working in days as not much better than Week 1 - seems the bad days are lasting longer than previous time I gave up. But, glad to be in Week 2. My throat is so sore and started before I gave up so going to doctor. Maybe it is worse because I gave up but I think I have a bug.

Congrats and welcome, Ivy :)

Good idea to get a check up at the docs for your sore throat. As you say it's probably just a bug.

Those bad days are as you know the withdrawal from the nicotine. Try to increase your vitamin intake as these can be quite unbalanced in the early days of quitting. Break the old ingrained habit of smoking by doing different things when a crave comes along. In fact plan some diversion tactics because you never know when they'll come in handy.

There's also a section on the Forum for listing your reasons for stopping smoking. Of course you don't need to post them up but it may be a good thing for you to write them down anyway. If you carry a note of them with you then when it times of difficutly you'll be able to reaffirm why it is that you're stopping smoking - changing a bad poisonous habit into a healthier future for yourself.

Thanks Cavalier.

Doctor could see nothing wrong with my throat. He ordered a blood test, but I don't know what for!
