Help..: Day 20 and feel like crap..for two... - No Smoking Day
Help..
well done for stopping smoking the evil smoke it may not seem like you will ever get past this stage but you will trust me the longer you go without giving in the better you will start to feel and the stronger you will become just try keeping busy or distrating your hands and mind reading up on the posts on here will help just remember not to think too far ahead just one craving at a time and before you know it you wilbe having periods where you wont even think about smoking everytime you get an yearning just come on here and post and read

That sounds horrible. You're quite a long way into your quit to have such a lot of physical symptoms - for me it was mainly pyschological and started to ease off after about 3 weeks but everyone is different. I didn't use patches but could it be them that are causing the symptoms? Maybe they need adjusting? Someone else who has used patches might be able to advise you better about this.
I know they are closed at the mo but do you have a GP or nurse who is monitoring you with your quit that you could talk to? Also do you drink a lot of coffee? I was advised to cut back when I quit as caffeine affects you a lot more as a non smoker. If you're still drinking the same this could be making you a bit edgy?
I hope you start to feel a bit better soon. Stay strong
Thanks just been awful to my OH...i do drink coffee so I will cur back and c if that helps. I was wondering if still getting nicotine from the patches is prolonging withdrawals but too scared to stop using them. Thanks for advice...first time in 20 days I feel it is all too much and want a ciggie..but I wont..i will keep moaning on this forum lol as seems only those who have been through this hell understand. Cheers guys..doesnt help.being cooped up with OH for a week and concerned back to stressful job tomoz x
some of what your feeling can be side effects to the patches but if you have been using them since you first quit then i cant see them having that much of an effect on you now but everyone is different you could always ring the nhs or even the helpline for this site to ask for advise on what to do
Don't give up you're going great guns I know its hard but so worth it. As long as you are on patches you are still putting nicotine in your system so seems to me you are keeping the hook and prolonging the agony BUT that is only my opinion and others have stopped successfully using them. Whatever method you use I fear at the beginning there are times you are going to feel sorely tested, like you do now. Stay strong though as you are about over the worst of it.
UI have taken off my patch..bout four hours ago..chest pains gone just normal withdrawals. Thanx all and wish me luck down the CT route
You'll be fine.
I was on the patches for 2 weeks and was so fed up of itching that I ditched them and continued using an inhalator.
I've had no problems at all with this. I only use my inhalator 2 or 3 times a day at most now.
I have stopped smoking for 3 weeks. Now I am feeling good. For long term what I have to do without smoking?
Hi Noreen
I used patches for about 3 weeks then went onto mini lozenges..... as people keep saying everyone is different and there is no right or wrong way.......some days are always harder than others.....but hang in there......you have come such a long way
