Hi I have found this site today and am half way through month two, 71 days to be exact (i have counted every one of them !)
I have gone cold turkey for most of the time but used an e-cig when drinking alcohol, some days have been difficult but on the whole it wasn't as bad as I expected.
Having smoked for 40 years approx 20/30 a day I never expected that I would actually quit nor did any of my friends and family.
Every morning I make a promise to myself that just for today I won't smoke - it seems to have worked.

Welcome to the forum, and well done on the great progress you have made. Hope that it continues to go so well for you. 40 years is a serious habit to break, but it can be done!
'Just for today' has been my mantra as well. It does work! Thinking of forever can be too daunting, especially at the beginning. Today is all you have to worry about.
