Day 9

Going well now.

Don't get many cravings atm. And am enjoying having warms hands and feet for the first time in aaggeesss.

Hit a snag today when I came home from work early and as soon as I got in the door was hit by the smell of fags from my OH smoking in the living room. Was NOT happy.

Apart from that, feeling much better...

Well done on getting to day 9 you are doing really well.

Shame about your OH still smoking, I know if me and my OH hadn't done it together then neither of us would have lasted this long. Your willpower must be super strong.

Keep going

Tyler

9 days well done. I am not sure how strong I would be if I had somebody smoking around me. Your doing fantastic :D

Oh

My oh still smokes but it does not really bother me apart from the fact that i'm having to breathe in second hand smoke. Wish she would quit too but i guess that's her choice .

Cheers!

Aye, I think in a way, it's helping because as well as being stong willed, amazingly tolerant etc, I am so bloody stubborn. In the beginning, it was difficult not to just steal a fly fag but it doesn't even cross my mind now.

And I'm getting a bit better with the nicotine - I'm leaving it longer in the day before I put my patch on. I still need it to stop myself turining into a homicidal maniac but I think when it comes to me being completely off the nicotine, I'll manage. Smoking was more of a psychological boon for me as opposed to just getting my fix so I'm glad I've been working on that side first.

I wish the OH would quit too. But I don't moan because ultimately, it's something you need to decide for yourself and your choice to smoke or not smoke is just that; YOUR choice.

Does your wife still smoke in the house when you're around? I don't think I could handle that - the smell must be sickening. But I suppose it could be an added incentive.

I guess I'm lucky in that my OH has never smoked - he's a severe asthmatic and is over the moon that I've stopped. Don't know how I would cope living with someone who still smoked. Sometimes I smell the smoke from the flat downstairs though, they smoke like chimneys

Well done to you both!

I've just read up on your previous posts and thrown in some comments there. Not much new to add here, I'm really impressed with how you deal with your quit.

Yea it doesn't make things easier that your OH smokes, but look at it this way; it's something you'll have to deal with regardless, once you get used to it, it won't be a problem for you, and you'll have passed another challenge in your permanent quit.

It doesn't matter if you face this challenge now, or 2 years down the road, it will still be a challenge nonetheless, so might as well deal with it now.

by the way, what does OH stand for? Lot of people using it on these forums.
