I'm wondering if my GP was correct when she told me that if I quit smoking, my lungs would fully recover after 5 years of no smoking and they would be as if I never smoked.....
Anyone know if this is true? I don't suppose the two little lines on my lips will disappear, but it would be fabulous to know that in spite of 25 years of smoking, I could turn back the clock!
Also, has anyone noticed an improvement in dark eye-circles? I have them and hope they will fade a bit.
Oh dear, I sound like a shrivelled up hag! Not so bad really, but hoping to see an improvement post quit.

i believe that would be true
personally i felt improvement in my lung compacity within a week and once i had coughed up all the rubbish in my lungs it was even better
8 months down the line i can run - couldnt before, i can climb hills - definately couldnt before, i can basically do anything physical that was a problem before when i smoked
oh and the dark eye circles i thought i had thin skin and it was just how i was but within i would say one month of quittingDARK CIRCLES GONE [i think i may have a post about it somewhere on here]
a while ago twice in one week by complete strangers i got mistaken for a 31 year old i am actually 41 that was a good week believe me
even people i know say i look younger since quitting
