Hi all!!! Started my quit attempt this morning using the patches and also an inhalator (of which I've puffed on twice)!!

I'm just looking for some advise as I've found it surprisingly easy!! No stresses, not 'gagging for a fag' which was one of my fave expressions a few days ago!!!

Am I to expect it bad tomoro?? Or is this how it will carry on?? A tad worried ill go backwards if I feel rubbish tomoro!

Any help or advise is much appreciated!!

It doesn't always have to be difficult. Some people are more affected by withdrawal symptoms than others, and withdrawal doesn't always start immediately (especially psychological withdrawal).

In any case, it's great to hear you made it through day 1!!!

Take each day as it comes I suppose then! Maybe ill be back tomoro screaming at you all!

At the end of the day I've got to do it for my babies!!

Yes, best to take each as it comes at first. If after a couple of weeks you're still not having any real cravings, you're probably in the clear for the most part. It is quite "normal" for people to have small cravings from time to time for several months and even after years in some cases, but usually these are manageable "wants" rather than a deep-rooted nail-biting feeling of need.

After almost seven months I'm finding it really easy with no cravings, but I'm only one example. Others may have a different story to tell.

Congratulations on getting through a whole day without smoking, it really is a HUGE achievment.

My advice would be to make a point of coming in here every morning and reading the experiences on past quitters stage by stage, there'll be a host of tips on how to cope and lots of real time experiences that you will find useful.

This forum was the biggest help to me during weeks 1 and 2.

Hi Loz,........ well done on quitting and in turn getting through day 1.

For me day 1 is the worst, closely followed by day 2 but then once I get into day 3...... I find it becomes a lot easier. Then its a matter of staying focussed , reminding yourself of your reasons of wanting to quit and not becoming complacent.

All it takes is one puff to ruin a good quit ....!

Keep looking at this site , make some quit buddies and I am sure you will do well .:)

Thanks guys! But I'm gutted to say I'm a big fat failure! On day 2!! I'm very annoyed at mysellf and have to do my day 1 all over again!!

Argument started at home and I was straight to the shop! :(
