Day 1 today

Hi, today is my quit day and 9th day of Champix use.

Not entirely sure I'm ready yet, i'm not sure if the champix has done anything. Haven't had any side effects.

But still, keep positive eh! I've never done a full day not smoking since I started, so that's nearly 10 years.

I'll be happy if I make it just one day :) then another... you get the idea.

I usually smoke my first two the second I wake up so I've not smoked around 5 already that I would have usually done :)

  • Welcome to the forum, Pepsidiet :)

One day at a time may well be helpful in getting your quit off the ground ;)

You do seem quite positive coming through in your words and that can help enormously in the early days. Reading and educating oneself also can help to give a smoother transition between smoking and not. There are links in various members' sigs and a search button on the above ruler in this forum. Dig in and post, question, and quit smoking :)

  • You can do it

I am sure you can do it .... believe in yourself ... it is actually more simple than you think ...

  • Thanks guys, the day has gone extremely smoothly so far... I might even say I'm enjoying it!

First hour was hell because I'm so used to it, but after that it's been fine. No real cravings as such, just "Oh, I'll go for a fa.." "hang on I don't smoke"

    And continue as normal.

Never done this before, it's strange but I love it. As alan said in his book, I notice the empty nicotine feeling in the chest, sort of like being hungry. Only difference is, if you don't feed it, it goes away very quickly!

    Cheers!

  • Well done Pepsi..

one day, the first day, is the most important, if you can to not smoke in this day you have done much road, i wish you to be strong to not fall in temptations.
