I am half way through week nine without cigarettes. I have quit using patches and generally it has been great, I am very proud of what I have done so far.
The one thing I've noticed is that my temper has got a lot worse since quitting - I'm generally quite laid back so it's been strange feeling so irritable and snappy. I suppose things vary from person to person but is this normal this far into a quit?
Also, does anyone have any top tips on keeping your cool / relaxing when the pressure is on?
Thank you!
Dave

Hi Dave, is this normal? you bet your life it is. Most of us go through the well not bad temper more quick tempered.
My family were great even though my wife and daughter had never smoked they were very supportive. My son was the same he did smoke and stopped so he knew what I was going through.
Tell your friends and family the this is due to not smoking and will they help you by understanding that you don't mean to be like this. If they can be patient it will eventually pass but it can take a while.
Don't feel guilty about it this is part of non smoking. As for tips on keeping your cool, when you feel you are getting angry, bad tempered. Try to calm down and tell yourself it's just wanting something you don't really want. Sit down or walk away, take a few deep breaths and try to relax.
I got very bad tempered at times but fortunately my family helped me through.
