Hi all, day 28 and I am so pleased with myself, I have just returned from the smoking cessation I got a certificate saying after successfully reaching your 4 week target, you are now a non- smoker. But I don,t think I can ever think that, even though I am not smoking, maybe one day I will. I hope so.
But for now I am just happy not having smoked for a month.
Oe day at a time eh. Love Joan xxxx

Firstly Well done on your 4 weeks.
When I got to 4 weeks and my NHS no smoking personage told me, thats it, you are now a non smoker. I thought no I am not. I am a smoker who hasn't for 4 weeks, I have no intention of smoking again but I am not a non smoker.
I am happy to say that at 5 months I do feel like an non smoker and have done for 3/4 weeks.
You will get to a point you feel like a non smoker. Be proud of getting to 4 weeks its a massive achievement, one of many to come
Joanie, BRILLIANT BRILLIANT BRILLIANT WELL DONE YOU!!!!!
You should feel really proud. It's a great achievement.
We've often had the 'do you call yourself a non smoker' debate on here. I think it's down to how you feel inside. I'm still an ex-smoker, in my head, and may always be. Others call themselves non-smokers from the minute they stop. Each to their own.
As far as I'm concerned you can call yourself Quentin Furtlewangler the Three Headed Moose-Botherer, as long as you don't smoke!!!
Hope you're treating yourself to something nice to celebrate.

Agree with Levs: I hit 4 weeks at 10.30pm tomorrow night (Tuesday). I see the wicked witch, aka 'chit of a girl' (she's 20 odd) aka NHS non-smoking personage (love that :)) on Wednesday. I am, and think (at my age) I will always remain, "A smoker - but one who chooses not to".
Four months -ish, Lev? I do hope so. I still feel like... err yes, that stuff... most of the time. I am REALLY looking forward to mid-summers day (June 21st) That (hopefully) will be MY 4 months-ish.
I AM Sorry, but I see many of you as 'kids' - my kids are mid-40's! You'll understand!! If I can smoke for 55 years and do my damnedest to quit, you can too. Go for it. Don't let an oldie beat you.
Final thought. I am a social drinker. I do not need a drink, but I like one now and then. Often, it is months.... I wish I could do that with fags!
