Hi all, have just joined the forum and impressed by the reviews and support you all give. This is my 5th day without a cig and I am struggling tonight but determined I am NOT going out for cigs - it will pass (i hope) Have heard if you drink plenty of water it helps ?
Support would be great: Hi all, have just... - No Smoking Day
Support would be great
Hi Blue,
Congratulations on making it to day 5, yes i remember hearing that sipping water helps with the cravings, and i used to do that myself, i guess its got something to do with having something to do with your hands?
keep on posting here and i'm sure you'll get a load of helpful replies and maybe make some good friends and find some quit buddies too
Hi Blue, well done 5 days witout a ciggy is massive. I found drinking water helped me also extra stong mints.
To get to 5 days is great and you are right it will pass and tomorrow may be a better day. Every day that passes will make you want to stop even more because you won't want to go back to the start and begin again.
Think of it this way you are now only 2 days away from one week and that is a big milestone. For now try to find something to do that will take your mind off it.
I used to play spider solitaire that helped.
Again well done.
Jack
Hi Blue
Yes water helps, so does squash - and of course cake and chocolate! More seriously, yes a big glass of water (I drink squash cos I find water a but dull myself) does really help. I don't know why but it does!
Others suck on straws, eat sugar-free sweets, chew gum or rush around cleaning houses. Personally I find getting on here and reading or posting helps me.
It does ease up. Keep going you've done so well so far!
