Here we go again....

Hello everyone,

Can't believe I'm back here after everything...had a blip turned into a week long relapse , smoking only when I got home mind and not at all during the day, but even that isn't good enough and have totally let myself down.

Haven't been able to admit to anyone I know that this has happened, cos I feel so ashamed!

How come I can get through a whole day without even a thought, and then as soon as I get through the door at home, bamn, I get a craving...think it's just the habit eh? Well, knocking it on the head tomorrow - wish me luck!!

Hi Embo

I'm relatively new on this but can I ask you if your using anything to aid you or are you just doing CT? Maybe something like an inhalator would ease your cravings in the evening?

Good luck, its great to see you've decided to try again!!

Wotcha Embo,

The human brain works in funny ways. I've not been smoking at home since early December so nothing for me during the weekends, evenings or even over the Christmas break. Never bothered me in the slightest. That was until getting in the car on a Monday morning then everything would go wrong! Not this time though :)

Thanks both of you...and Sinead, what a totally genius idea!! dunno why i didn't think of that. I have always quit CT before, thought process being that I could get the difficult bit out the way quickly, but seeing as I can manage a whole day without thinking about it, and it only now bugs me when i get home, then the inhalator seems a brilliant idea...will get one on the way home!! Thanks and hope your quit is going well x

Good luck Embo, you'll be fine. Try not to look at it as starting again - you have a fantastic head start this time.

I have struggled with the same problem as you - fine all day, then in the house and BAM - I want to smoke! My solution, instead of going into my living room and plonking myself down on the couch, I went into my bedroom and picked up a book. It was weird, but it worked. Some days I would change my clothes immediately and head back out, go to the cinema where I couldn't smoke.
