thought i would join up as my quit date is tomorrow. been a smoker for 15 years and i suppose i have never really tried to quit properly before. however, the reason i am determined to stop is im going to be a dad in july! and i dont want to be smoking when the baby is born, i have been reading this forum for about a week before today and thanks to the posts im more "up" for it than i thought i would be so thanks to all who write. anyway just wanted to say hello wish me luck!

I've only been part of this forum for a few days but have found it an immense help.

So wish that I'd given up smoking before my kids were born. I couldn't even give up properly for the 9 months that I was pregnant with them! How shameful is that. I do beat myself up about it 'cos I always say I would do ANYTHING for my kids but before they even entered this world I couldn't do that one simple thing for them and their health - kick the fags.
