Watch the video below on You Tube...it will realy make you think twice. Imagine you in hospital with the doctor saying you have 5 months to live You have lung cancer. How would you feel.
Try to imagine it happening to you...I dare you! Do you reckon you would sleep much.
How would you feel in front of your friends and relatives when you tell them you will be "going " in a few months time. How would you feel tidying the house, putting your affairs in order and waiting for death, and no more loved ones, no more nothing!!!
Hi all, please don't be too harsh on Dave. Reading between the lines I think it is supposed to be motivational. Everybody has moments of doubt and everybody deals with it in their own way. I honestly don't think the intention was to patronise others.
Why is there no edit button on this thread
I've got one on my post! It's just you - you aren't allowed to change anything you say ever ever again. (Echoes of evil mwahh haha type laughter fades into distance... I need to get out more!)
I agree with Becky - it was probably a bit heavy handed, but I think the intention behind it was good.
Sometimes when you see a video or read something that massively motivates you personally, it's easy to get a bit evangelical telling others about it. I think that's all that happened here.
So... next time try 'I saw this video, it made a huge impression on me, thought I'd point you in its direction' and leave it at that!
I don't mind the link to the video because we can choose whether to click on it or not; I looked out of curiosity but it wasn't my kind of thing and didn't tell me anything I haven't told myself a million times already.
What I don't understand is whether Dave has also quit/is planning to quit and was on the forum to seek and/or offer help.
A lot of people open up about themselves on this forum in a way they possibly wouldn't dream of doing out in the real world because they know they can do it safely here, and as far as I'm concerned everyone is welcome.
Apologies if I came across as a preaching do gooder....in fact Im just a humble 3 week in quitter.... who has had the worst 2 weeks of his life waiting for an x ray.....! do you want to hear the story?" I think it will help you all ( It turned out ok !) Hurahhh!
