I have to say that it tends to get easier as the days roll on... or should I say the months! I have to admit that a day hasn't gone by where I haven't thought of smoking, but like I've said before it's more of a memory or a thought of the "good ol' days" - I also may fantasize about having a cigarette sometimes, but it's purely a fantasy! It's not even because I want one - it may be just because I would have normally had one at that particular time. I don't crave a cigarette anymore and as time goes by I'm feeling more and more confident about my quit.
I'm just really proud of myself for coming this far. I've quit about 15 times before this - trying many different nicotine replacement therapys and other imaginative ways.. but, the longest I'd lasted prior to this quit was just about 3 months - so, to have made it all the way to the end of 5 feels pretty darn good. The good thing about quitting so many times before was that I really learned my triggers and I figured out what way works for me the best - so, each new quit gave me more and more amo to fight the battle. So for those of you who lose confidence after the first few times you try - don't be so hard on yourself and just take it as a learning experience and just remember what it was that got you smoking again so that way you can have that armour handy the next time you quit!
Keep going everyone!

Well done, is good to hear from those further along the road and know we CAN do it

This I think is so true, just think of previous quits as learning - in school they would give you mock tests so you knew what the actual test would be like, that is how I think of my previous attempts!
Hi Sylvia
I can't wait to get to the 4 month mark - seems sooooooo far away at the moment
That's so great! It must have felt wonderfull to get further than you ever have in any of your previous quits. I'm getting near the 3 month mark now, it's crazy how you never think you'll get there and then you do and think 'hey, that's not such a big deal? what was I scared of when I was smoking??'
