Well I did it Have taken the plunge (at long last) & have started day 1.
Felt a wee bit naff when forced to get out of bed (for work) & realised no more smoking for me! Got over that though & avoided going to the garage for supplies. Am sitting at my desk for lunch posting on here so I can't go get any.
Have had a few smallish grrrrrrrr moments this morning but then realised I had forgotten to put my patch on. I do have my lozenges though Will see if I can manage without the patches as well but at least I know I have them just in case.
Wish me luck for the rest of the day & hope you are all enjoying a good smoke free day

Well done for taking the first step!! For me the thought of quitting was almost insurmountable, but once I'd started the quit it wasn't as bad as I feared. Not that it's always been easy by any means, but equally it's not impossible either.
Stay strong, and do whatever you have to to keep away from the cigs. There's always excellent support here for the tough times.
Yes, my friend you have made the first and best step. I think it's harder to think about stopping than it is to do it and now you have done it. Keep yourself distracted with whatever you can, don't sit thinking about smoking or not smoking on your own. Reading and talking about it is good, sharing your daily experience will also help, you will get lots of support from others and someone will get help from your post. Sharing and reading as much as you can will be the best help of all.

Just did a lovely long reply & post then lost it before submitting it
This is now a shortened version 'cos I am tired!!!
Have had a good day all in all. Few 'wants' as opposed to craves & managed it just on lozenges as I forgot to put my patch on. Will see if I can manage with out them but not beat myself up if I decide to use them. Still better than smoking me thinks
Hi Gaynor I am so glad that you are now smoke free and i am sure that this time you will make it to the Penthouse, we are all behind you and will give you all the support you need, stay strong and remember ask for help if you need it, as we all know how proud quitting smoking can make us.
