Hey guys,

yikes, where do i even start!?:(

I have been back to uni for 2 weeks now, and to begin with it didnt bother me (having to walk through people smoking at all the entrances to buildings, sitting nect to people who stink of fags etc), but over the last 2 days i have been under a stupid amount of stress with the amount of uni work to do (7 essays due), as well as being a single mum with 2 kids, no help from family or friends....

I am finding it harder and harder to stay positive about not smoking :(. Being positive has always been my thing to sto psmoking, and its worked so well, but i feel like its failing me now! the last 3 days, i have had more cravings than i have had in a while, and i am finding myself having thoughts of "i fancy a ciggie" all the time while at uni (although not as often at home thankfully!).

What the hec do i do to get back on with the positivity??

sounds like the essays are a big part of the stress, in my experience the ONLY way to get rid of that stress is to sit down and start writing them. there's a great technique where you set yourself the target of writing 300 words a day without fail - which gives 2100 words a week, so seven short essays in seven weeks! once you get into the habbit of 300 words a day the essay stress starts to fade, because you are always doing something about it. 5mol<er

Don't do it... the one thing you have to remember is that smoking CAUSES stress!

As soon as you've finished that first cigarette the withdrawal starts to kick in again, causing, not relieving stress. You then need that next cigarette to get your stress down to the same level as before you had that first cig and the vicious circle starts again. Unfortunately there's nothing that will get rid of the stress so don't kid yourself that a cig would help.

I know it's hard to stay positive (been there too many times myself) and easy to just say f**k it, and have a fag but you gotta keep in there for the sake of yourself and your kids - I'm sure you want to be around for when they are at University and come home complaining of how stressful it is at uni :D
