Howdy! re-visit from a March quitter.

Today for some reason I looked on my phone and came across the quit counter I installed the day I stopped back in March.

It read's:

"It has been 28 weeks, 2 days, 17 hours, 6 minutes and 19 seconds since I quit"

Seeing that made me think of this site, I thought I would say hello and more importantly say a big thank you to all those folks who supported my quit at it's most delicate beginning stage.

There were a few times over the past six months where it was a damn near run thing, especially as my other half did not manage to keep quit.

Each time I nearly fell the lessons I learned here pulled me through. I knew with certainty that whatever problems I had at the time that if I took one cigarette then I would have one more problem on top.

I'm happy to say that I never had that first one!

I don't think about smoking much these days and staying quit is relatively straightforward but I guard against complacency by remembering that I was quit for ten years once and that in the end one puff led me back to complete addiction in little more than a few months.

Once you get quit, don't ever forget how much smoking sucks, hold onto your quit with all your strength!

I choose not to smoke today... Good luck to you all.

Wow, well done Rubicon!

Hearing people who have quit for long periods and then started again just reinforces to me never to take even 1 puff!

Well done you!
