So far so good.....

Day one and it's now 11 hours since I last smoked.

On a late start today so I took my son to school (it was pouring down... he usually walks!) and I'm now sat here now with a cup of coffee and a bacon, cream cheese and watercress bagel for breakfast. :D

Got a stock of sugar free, cherry flavoured Fisherman's Friends in to suck if needed.

Feeling ok so far..... :)

having something to distract you is always good. I am on day 5 now and i have loads of fruit grapes and berrys obviously its good for me. There are a efw people on here that swear by sipping cold water havent tried it though. If you look around peoples signatures there is some really interesting reading that i had my attention drawn to on day 1 it really does help

19 hours down and still doing fine... a few odd cravings but nothing I can't handle! :)

I was stood behind a smoker in the shop earlier and he STUNK!!! I smelt fabulous! :D

However some of the other quitting side effects have kicked in already.... my stomach has bloated to the size of a barrage balloon and I have become a walking gas terminal! :o

No gain without pain as they say..... (although in this case the pain may be endured by whoever happens to be standing 'down wind' of me!!)

Well done Cantante its great to get this far, big pat on the back to both of us and all the others quiting today. I am having similiar day, not as bad as I thought and no craving I can't handle. God I hope tomorrow goes as well. Is a bloated tummy and wind a side effect of giving up as I have noticed a bit of this going on today:o. Oh well better that than cancer eh!

I know the wind issue was a big thing with me last time I gave up.... and it lasted a pretty long time too as I remember... I don't remember it kicking in quite so early last time though! I do remember not realising what it was and trying to eliminate all kinds of things from my diet, thinking I'd developed an allergy!

At least this smell we can blame on whoever's standing nearest! :D

Good luck guys, I didn't particularly notice the bloating and gas (I'm at 4 days now, it might still come!)... but what's a bit of pain caused to a by-stander compared to the awesome feeling of knowing you've just gone a whole day without a cigarette!?

Hope tomorrow goes as well as today
