Hi Shirley , not too sure about the champix being responsible as I used patches . I will say though that I also felt as though something was missing earlier in my quit and consequently I suppose I was a bit fed up too .

Stick with it and in time you will adjust and feel loads better :D

Hi Shirley,

I used patches and then started CT. It does get better, I used to feel I was missing out on something huge. Had a blip at weekend, smoked and wow how the tables have turned. I actually felt depressed that I had lit up-i gained absolutely NOTHING from it apart from wheezing again, and couldnt wait to get back to the non-smoking side!! I was actually looking forward to being a non-smoker and I am new to this too, I had only been quit for 3 weeks. Keep it up, the fags are rotten!

I promise that all things bad will end and all these negative vibes will be gone champix NRT or CT doesnt make a difference we are all giving something up that has been near enough a life partner, sad I know but its like losing a close friend who was always there for us, its not easy and we all know this when we decide to quit but what we have to do is keep focused on why we quit and always remember that NOPE is the motto

NOT ONE PUFF EVER

THIS FORUM IS BRILLIANT IT WILL HELP KEEP YOU SMOKE FREE AND IF YOU POST OFTEN THEN YOU CAN LOOK BACK AND REALISE THAT YOU DO NOT WANT TO DO THIS AGAIN

So keep coming on and we will keep supporting you, good luck.

Hi Shirley....I gave up with Champix.....and I remember the very same thing....it felt like total and absolute grief.....the key is to find something to keep you really busy for a while and read lots of nasty things about smoking (reinforces why you are doing this)....I dont know if it is the champix or the quit....but this feeling will stop and be replaced by how clever you are.....Well done and keep up the good work......

Hi

I quit on Champix too. At the beginning I remember feeling like something was missing, and that it was an unnatural situation not to be having a cigarette. You're just breaking the habits of many many years. With Champix, you're not actually craving a nicotine hit via a cigarette, it more a sense of feeling that you *should* be doing something.

It will pass. Try to adjust your thoughts so that you don't feel deprived but feel proud that each time you are string enough to resist a desire to have a cigarette means that the next time the feeling is less strong.

it will go away - keep with it and feel proud, not deprived.

Sue
