WOW. Im 38 days into my quit and weighed in today... In exactly 31 days I have gained 10 pounds...... Thats it, going out today and purchasing a treadmill!!!!! I feel so down. I need a ciggie....no i dont....yes i do....no i dont..... aaaaaahhhh. Im gonna lose it...or have I lost it.... :confused:

I know it's depressing putting on weight whatever the reason but far healthier than smoking again. Am catching up on my ironing, & believe me, there is loads. Gonna have a HUGE clearout then, hopefully will inspire me to get on the weight loss road also. NOTHING FITS :eek:

ZaNaDoo it will come off again you know! And, now you're quit you'll find it easier to exercise and that'll REALLY help...I say this as someone who's been a fat smoker and a thin smoker, it ain't the fags that stop you getting fatter, it's exercising more and eating less....!! Give yourself a break about the weightgain, and lace up your jogging shoes! I've read that most people's weight goes up, but then levels off again to roughly smoking weight (!) in about 6 months, and from what I've seen of friends who've been quit for a long time, that seems about right.

I didn't go for my weigh in tonight! Too scared :eek:
So today is the first day back on the healthy eating plan, no more chocolate (well maybe just a tiny bit). and will go to get weighed next Monday. I've put on 2lbs up until last week and reckon another few landed between then and now as I had a bit of a choco frenzy!
hey Trikes, How id ur weigh in go?? I just started a low calorie and low carb diet. Almost put my treadmill together but gave up....lol...I will attempt again this weekend

I know just what you mean. I haven't gained any weight in the last 5 weeks since stopping smoking but oh my god it has been hard work. So many times I have been hungry and I have walked my little socks off to try and keep my weight stable. Doesn't seem fair does it. Saying that, friday night is my treat night and we are having fish and chips and by god I'm going to enjoy it. Back to watching the weight tomorrow.

Hi, I stopped into work a little today and thought id check up on you all...Gaynor be happy you havent gained weight..lol. My other situation is stabelizing you could say getting much better as the days go on. The treadmill, well, lets just say its still there in pieces. The OH promises he will help me put it together today. I am so proud of myself. I drank last night and again didnt smoke! My OH on the other hand is still smoking and is becoming a routine once again. But as for myself, NOPE, WONT DO IT!! Well all, I am about to head out of this office and take my little ones to see a myme show...Fun. I will touch base on Monday...
ooooh guess what else..I will be getting a laptop over the weekend and will be able to stay in touch on weekends!! woooohhoooooo
Hi ZanAdoo glad you are still strong in your quit, the weight I put on wasnt too bad 10LB but my body decided to put another spoke in the wheel and when I had a routine blood test my cholesterol had gone up so have to diet now no choice so thats made it a two pronged attack but if every thing else is ok dont worry about a bit of pudding quitting is so much more important.
Get that treadmill going and you will not have to fret about the odd bit of choccy LOL
if you want to loose weight while stopping smokin`, you need to work out. ie, running or walking.
there are alot of techniques stay with the no smokin`! it really is a horrible habit lol taken me a while to figure that out. even if they still smell nice lol.

Jamangie-wow sorry to hear about the cholesteral. I hope that you get that back on track. As for my weight- well I got the treadmill put together on Saturday, and I have to say that was a workout in itself. 3 hours!! So when the OH and I were done we sat there and stared at eachother laughing. We were tired. But later that Day we went out purchased Tennis raquets for the fam and went out for an hour of Tennis. It was so much fun. The children had a blast....Im excited and will be losong these pounds!! Keep up the great work guys and thank you all for your support.

Glad you got that treadmill up & had a laugh in the process. But you all had great fun playing tennis together. You will all be SO fit & having fun into the bargain.

woo hoo. day 36 Gaynor! Thats Awsum!! I may take wlks outdoors this week instead of the treadmill . Its going to be 80 degress tomorrow! :eek: OMG Cant wait. I am going to have my internet at home hooked up today...YAAAAY
