OK, so I've been having the smoking dreams some of you seem to have had. To be honest, I'd have expected to be past that stage by now (6 and a bit weeks in - CT). There's nothing particularly upsetting or scary about these dreams. I just basically sit and chain smoke. Very odd and makes me quite "cravey" first thing in a morning.
Any of you amature psycotherapists out there got any ideas as to the how and why I'm having these dreams? Just find that whatever hurdles I've had so far, if I understand the "science bit" behind what's happening, it makes it easier..
Any help appreciated boys and girls.

To be honest Munter I still get them now and then, not as wierd as they were but cigs are always in them ..., like you say hopefully someone in the know will explain ....
oh nooooo i thought it was the patches that caused the weird dreams or the smoking dreams, but you are quitting ct oh heavens lol.
dont no what the point is to the smoking dreams maybe just another way for nico to try and win?????
i have found myself very dissapointed with myself on waking after having a smoking dream thinking i had actually smoked, but had no craving on waking after such a dream just the opposite if im honest. well done on 6 weeks ct
Most importantly, great to see you here, alive, kicking and not smoking.
I'm around the same quit day as you and CT, and no weird smoking dreams to report. On Saturday I did dream the bedroom door opened and a hand came through (Bela Legosi/Dracula stylee) and was reaching out claw like for me. I screamed, woke my boyfriend up and went back to sleep again.
They are called using dreams in rehab parlance, where the drug addict (smoker+nicotine addict) dreams of using the substance.....I'll try and find a link.
Mary - I too feel really disappointed and upset sometimes when I'm waking up. Like All my quit is gone and I'm back on the fags again. Not only does it make me crave first thing, it puts me on a downer to start the day. We all know how much easier a smoke-free day is if your in a good mood!
