Day one for real this time. I quit yesterday after lunch, but this will be the first day. Anyways, haven't had a cigarette since yesterday lunchtime, am on Champix. I feel antsy and a bit out of it, difficulty concentrating, but otherwise okay. I think the Champix takes off the edges mostly as there is not that horrid withdrawal feeling of going cold turkey.
Blah. anyway, here goes everything

I'm on day 10 with champix. Doing great and I know you will too
I have been quit for 1 Week, 2 Days, 3 hours, 14 minutes and 21 seconds (9 days). I have saved $68.50 by not smoking 228 cigarettes. I have saved 19 hours of my life. My Quit Date: 2/10/2010 6:35 AM
Thanks, made it through lunch! I don't feel physically horrible, but just like I'm missing something...
this is the time to get busy Ajikan81 .... because you have routinely doing the same thing everyday for the last twenty or so years... you have to re-educate your body into doing a different routine instead of going for a fag after work go for a little walk, read the paper just take your mind of it
I am on day 3 and using patches, i'm doing ok but am thinking about it all the time! I make myself drink a pint of water every time I have a really craving and it helps and the fact I spend more time going to the loo! I keep needing to read info on web to satisfy myself why I am doing this and want to feel the benefits of giving up now. I'm sure it will get more chilled as time goes on. Keep it up!
Well done you the first day of your smoke free life well done the way you're feeling is normal even using champix but it will pass soon OK
Keeping bust really helps especially the first few days
Hold on tight and just keep going
Hi Loffe
Well done you day 3 on patches
Below is my standard welcome and advice post which I try and give all new members
Welcome to the forum and well done on the decision to quit possibly one of the most important you will ever make and you will be losing nothing but you will regain control of your life and that has to be good
You will find all the help and support you need on here as we all help each other just like a family we are here for you every step of the way cheering the good days and sympathising with the bad but the good far outweigh the bad
Read the posts on here you will find a lot of tips and advice and in the signatures of a lot you will find links to other sites just click on them Here are 2 I find very good to start you off whyquit.com and woofmang.com Read, read and then read some more as the more you read and learn about why you smoked and about your addiction the easier your quit will be
Thanks for that, it's taking up all my time working out this forum at the moment! I am out tonight for the first time since giving up and really worried what is going to happen after a few glasses of wine but I am staying positive!
Yum, going out for a nice glass of wine!! The only reason you should worry what is going to happen when you have a few glasses of wine is if you are now going to let the wine control you instead of the nicotine!!! It is YOUR choice whether you succumb or not ... I can't promise it will be easy going out for a glass of wine this early on ... in fact it might seem very strange but you must tell yourself why you are doing this if you do get the urge and just STAY strong ... I am 4 and a half weeks in and it is still difficult everytime I go for a drink with friends but the main thing is I have beaten the urge everytime and remained strong ... last night was a new challenge as I was out with a smoker for the first time ... uncomformtable I can tell you but I woke up this morning still a non-smoker!! New challenges all the time ... I find updating a status on my mobile to facebook helps when out and getign an urge ... then you can check the positive comments you get back from friends supporting you ... check your status everytime you get an urge and this helps take your mind off!!
Hope you have a fabulous night .... STAY STRONG. Expect to hear tomorrow how proud you are of yourself for getting to day 5!!
