Hi everyone, I'm now on day 4 of what's going to be my final quit! Ive stopped so many times before but this time I'm more determined than ever. It's not been too bad so far, I'm using 24 hour patches but taking them off at night - don't like the crazy dreams! I'm also taking the odd mini lozenge and I find a glucose tablet now and then does help too. I'm also going to the local Smoking Cessation Group. The more support the better, and this forum seems a great way to get even more support.
My husband is still smoking but he's been going outside which is really helping, long may it last.
I've been reading some posts the last couple of days at work and it's realy helped, I've been having the same feelings and experiences as quite a few of you. I'm determined that the monster wont get me again!
Thanks everyone for helping me get through the first few days!

Well done to hubby for going outside to smoke and who knows when he sees how well you're doing he may well join you as well
Below is my standard welcome and advice post which I try and give all new members
Welcome to the forum and well done on the decision to quit possibly one of the most important you will ever make and you will be losing nothing but you will regain control of your life and that has to be good
You will find all the help and support you need on here as we all help each other just like a family we are here for you every step of the way cheering the good days and sympathising with the bad but the good far outweigh the bad
Read the posts on here you will find a lot of tips and advice and in the signatures of a lot you will find links to other sites just click on them Here are 2 I find very good to start you off whyquit.com and woofmang.com Read, read and then read some more as the more you read and learn about why you smoked and about your addiction the easier your quit will be
I have to say that your husband going outside should really help. When my fiancee and I both smoked, neither of us would do so in the house as the smell of stale smoke was terrible to us, even as smokers.
Hi everyone, thanks very much for your messages of encouragement. Day 4 was quite hard, I had quite a lot of little pangs, only discovered when I went to bed that my patch was a bit loose! Day 5 now and so far so good, my glocose tablets are helping a lot. I guess keeping busy is good too, I've been spending a lot of time on the pc, and reading. I know it will get easier though. Cheers, Libby
