Hi Stu,

Dont see it as a mountain. Just a small hill that you have to climb every day for a few days.

HONESTLY. LISTEN. It really really does get better. I wouldn't put a time frame on it, but within a very short while you will feel much better and more at ease with your decision and your ability to get through the day without smoking. I'm on day 14 tomorrow after deciding to quit one Tuesday morning because I had no money to buy any cigs from the shops. I can honestly say I FEEL much better - and I dont spend my days constantly thinking about smoking or the fact that I am not smoking. Dont get me wrong the thought passes through my mind occasionally, and I mean very occasionally - but I just dismiss this like I would any other passing thought.

Small steps at first. Be in control. Stay focused. Remind yourself of your reasons for your quit. Remind yourself not to feed your addiction. Remind yourself that it is a pointless filthy habit that has no place in your life anymore. Do not give in to the addiction. You don't need to anymore. You are now a non smoker and you have made the best decision in deciding not to smoke anymore.

Keep you your good work - and keep posting and reading these forums - they are a great source of info, advice, tips, encouragement, motivation and more.

Aye mate, I quit on new years eve about 11.45 and lasted untill day 15 untill I had a sly tab after one to many beers one Saturday afternoon, didn't have another tab untill saturday the 23rd in the same scenario but smoked like half a pack, so now I'm starting again from day one which feels like a mountain to climb to get back to day 23, but on the other hand i've only smoked for 2 out of 25 days :)
