Hi Emma,

Apparently cravings only last about 3 minutes which isn't long at all but they sometimes feel like 3 hours, just keep yourself busy and they will pass I promise. It's that Nicodemon wanting you to give in but dont!!!!!!.

Hows your quit going apart from the cravings?, what day are you upto now.

Keep strong and focussed

Hey Emma - good luck for today.

I'm quitting with Champix and although stopping smoking may not be the easiest thing you will ever attempt, I genuinely found the first day exciting as I was beginning to tackle something we all know isn't good for us!

To answer your question - I had a couple of stress balls lying around the house and this weird plastic NiQuitin plastic toy which makes all sorts of weird shapes then you untangle it again. Also had some 'thinking putty' which is pretty much play-dough for grown-ups. These were the things I relied on in the first few weeks to help me through the cravings.

All the best with your quit!

Emma check that craving stoppers link in my signature to see if anything helps at all. I found breathing deeply 'in with the good.... out with the bad'... helped me alot. In fact half the time my breathing was more like a sigh :)

Anyway, hope that helps.

J
