Coughing up rubbish - when should this start?

I'm on day 8 and last time I quit about 6 or 7 days in I coughed lreally badly. I'm a bit worried that this time I'm not even hacking up a little bit. When should I start to "clear"?

Hello :)

Check out the 'Other symptoms of quitting' area....

forum.nosmokingday.org.uk/f...

Plenty of useful posts in there about that and more.

I stopped mid October and haven't had any 'clearing cough' at all and probably won't now.

I was concerned about not coughing up and clearing out but not now.

If this is going to happen then the timing isn't going to be the same for everyone..... don't fret about it for now. Concentrate on your quit and good for you on being on your 8th day of not smoking. Well done :)

Thanks Pol...very useful link. Haven't see that one yet.

I think that maybe because I've had two fairly prolonged (about a month), but unsuccesful quits in the last 18 months, maybe I "cleaned out" most of the 20 years accumulation last time out.
