Day 7 on champix

Firstly i'd like to say hello to everyone as i have only just found this site.

Ok i'm quitting smoking, this is my 3rd attempt, 1st attempt read Alan Carrs book and surprisingly i did stop, but it was short lived and after a few weeks i fell back into the habit of smoking again, then in Feb 08 i quit my job and thought this would be a good time to quit smoking money is gonna be tight, and i always said i would stop again, so i tried champix and had a rough time on them, had to cut the dose down to half and after about 6 weeks stopped taking them, i managed 6 months.

Now 2yrs on and although i was ill with champix the last time i'm prepared to face it, so i'm on day 7 and the sicky feeling is kicking in, but the desire to smoke is going, the last 2 nights i've had restless sleep, but this could be a change in night time temp. So i'm not really planning a quit day, but do know it will be this week.

finally congrats to those that have quit and well done to those who are at the 1st stages of quitting and hang in there.

Hello and welcome

Firstly this sick feeling, is it just when you actually take the tablets? If it is eat something about 15 minutes before you take the blue tablet, this really helps and drink as much water as you can through the day.

Look at your other quits as the run up to your actual quit which is now. Good luck and let us know how you are doing.

xx Good luck

day 9 on Champix

Hi

I am on day 9 of Champix and have not felt too bad, feel slightly sick and headachy but nothing I can't manage.

Today I stopped smoking (4th attempt) and after feeling very excited and happy this morning, I have calmed down a little but still managing ok. No real cravings (yet!) just a bit of a struggle at tea time because thats when i used the sit on the backdoor step having a few minutes to myself (I have got 5 children between 3 and 13, mad time of the day between 4 + 7PM) quite regularly. I will just have to get used to having a few minutes when my husband gets home......

Sofar, it has been easier then previous quits, not sure if that is the Champix or my state of mind. It is obviously still only day 1 but feeling positive and keeping my fingers crossed!

I hope your sicky feeling will ease a little.

Good luck let us know when your quitday is when you have decided!

I also used champix and have never looked back and like you just had the sicky feeling but only with the morning one and a bit headachy but that was it

Below is my standard welcome and advice post which I try and give all new members

Welcome to the forum and well done on the decision to quit possibly one of the most important you will ever make and you will be losing nothing but you will regain control of your life and that has to be good

You will find all the help and support you need on here as we all help each other just like a family we are here for you every step of the way cheering the good days and sympathising with the bad but the good far outweigh the bad

Read the posts on here you will find a lot of tips and advice and in the signatures of a lot you will find links to other sites just click on them Here are 2 I find very good to start you off whyquit.com and woofmang.com Read, read and then read some more as the more you read and learn about why you smoked and about your addiction the easier your quit will be

This link is good for the psychological part of quittingwhyquit.com/whyquit/A_Sympt...

Post often to let us know how you're doing, to rant, rave have a moan whatever you like pretty much anything goes on here
