I am on day 5 and still finding things really hard. I have times of the day where I automatically think, oh good time for my cig, and then realise that i'm not smoking anymore. It's a weird thing that you can miss something that's going to kill you like it's an old friend that has died. I have stopped on previous occasions and know that a point will come when I see someone smoking and think it looks disgusting but i'm not there yet. I just want to be able to hiberbate, see no-one and go no-where for a month but this aint going to happen. I work in a motorbike shop which is very sociable and much of my time used to be spent on the forecourt with customers drinking tea and having a cigarette. I'm now hiding behind the till pretending I can't smell the aroma.
Ho hum, I will keep going and hopefully get out the other side.
It's great being able to read everybody elses neurosis too, at least i'm not totally mad!!

Day 5 is great your doing really well. the first week is by far the worse but your almost done. Things will improve just take things day by day you will soon start to feel the benifits. Keep posting and reading you will have a lot of support and advice here.xxxxx
Day 5...That's massive...you have done it...the only reason you miss it is because you where addicted to nicotine...You have broken free from the evil that quite frankly someone should ban from our world...Think how good it feels not to smell like a dirty ashtray...read up as much as you can on nicotine, basically poison...just read as much as you can....Don't try to forget about smoking just realise what a great decision you have made and how great your life is from now on... I don't want any more of my decisions and moods being based on smoking the next cigerette...I want to be free and have been for two days...can't wait for it to be 5 days...Time passes so quick...Keep going...Stay free
congrats - sounds like your doing really well. Yeah its a bit of a wierd grieving process at first. Must be a bit like what it feels like to finally put your Nemisis behind bars if you are a superhero or something. Like you know that they were bad for you but you still had a "relationship" no matter how bad.
You might have to avoid the forcourt of your work for a bit but just think how nice its gonna be in the summer when you are hitting your 6 month mark and your just out there having a laugh with everyone and your free as a bird to just chill in the sun needing nothing.
Well done you on day 5 almost a full week keep it going I'm sorry you're finding it hard but I promise it does get easier
It's natural that at this early stage you miss it after all smoking was a large part of your life and suddenly it's not there any more so in some ways it's like loosing a friend almost a grieving process but it will pass
