Hi Deano :D

Well done deciding to quit that's great

The slight head ache is normal you may have it for a couple of days but then it will disappear

Below is my standard welcome and advice post which I try and give all new members

Welcome to the forum and well done on the decision to quit possibly one of the most important you will ever make and you will be losing nothing but you will regain control of your life and that has to be good

You will find all the help and support you need on here as we all help each other just like a family we are here for you every step of the way cheering the good days and sympathising with the bad but the good far outweigh the bad

Read the posts on here you will find a lot of tips and advice and in the signatures of a lot you will find links to other sites just click on them Here are 2 I find very good to start you off whyquit.com and woofmang.com Read, read and then read some more as the more you read and learn about why you smoked and about your addiction the easier your quit will be

This link is good for the psychological part of quittingwhyquit.com/whyquit/A_Sympt...

Post often to let us know how you're doing, to rant, rave have a moan whatever you like pretty much anything goes on here

Love

Marg

Hi Deano got to 27 days before that was nearly as far as I've gone now. I'm sure if you really want to you'll get there again.

tried stopping smoking before got to 27 days always find some reason to start again.

I'm going to change the wording on here it is not meant to be harsh I would like you to think of it this way.

tried stopping smoking before got to 27 days always find some excuse to start again.

You see while I have been going through my quit I know there has been reasons for me to start again but there not reasons they are excuses to my self or others. I've said this on here already so may get fed up hearing it as a driving instructor I have not been able to work for 3 weeks because of the weather. I have now lost around £1.500 to £2,000 in takings but that is not a reason to start smoking again it would be my excuse and all would forgive me. Wouldn't you all?

No excuses I'd love to see you do it. I'm now on 33 days and there is now no way I want to smoke again.

All the best,

Jack:)

Yes jack you are totally right, last time i did find an excuse i could have kicked

myself for starting again.I felt left out my mates where going outside for a fag and i sat in the pub i know it sound sad but true but realized my mistake will not be doing that again.:)

It's not sad it's normal. I know that in the past I have said "okay tomorrow I stop smoking" and then the time comes and it could be I've too much worrying me just now or any little excuse I could find.

Turn it the other way round and think how stupid your mates are for standing outside the pub freezing while your nice and cosy inside enjoying your pint.

When I first started stopping I felt jealous when I saw people smoking, now I feel they are probably jealsous of me for not smoking.

Take it 1 day at a time, keep at it it's not easy but only as hard as you make it.
