Newbie and Day 2 of Champix

Hi guys, I'm new here and I'm on day 2 of Champix. I have been looking for a support group to see me through the upcoming days of agony ;) and this forum looks like just the thing.

So far so good with the Champix, feeling great, however am quite tired, but work has been difficult this week, so that could be why.

I have been smoking 20 a day for 20 years, so feel that this will be the right time to stop.

Just really wanted to introduce myself and say hi :) Is there anyone else here on Champix?

Welcome Wildcats

Champix is awesome .... it took me 13 days (things do take longer at my age), but the need for a smoke just faded until I just asked myself "why bother". No looking back, I'm 8 days smoke free. That said, I'm convinced that the people here also made the difference.

So keep taking the tablets and very soon you won't be puffing the fags.

Hi Wildcats, welcome to our safe haven. There are a few of us on Champix, and if you look in day 1 there are a few blogs which are very helpful.

Good luck my love.

Thanks guys I appreciate the welcome, I have heard about the sickness that I might get which I have to say I am dreading, but if I can get through that I hope it will be fine :)

Just make sure you eat when you take the Champix and it should be ok.:)

Hi Wildcats :)

Well done on the decision to stop smoking a huge one in itself

I also used champix to help me having over the years tried most other things with no success

I had no problems with it although I felt a little nausea with the morning one solved by taking it a little later with a full glass of water

Below is my standard welcome and advice post which I try and give all new members

Welcome to the forum and well done on the decision to quit possibly one of the most important you will ever make and you will be losing nothing but you will regain control of your life and that has to be good

You will find all the help and support you need on here as we all help each other just like a family we are here for you every step of the way cheering the good days and sympathising with the bad but the good far outweigh the bad

Read the posts on here you will find a lot of tips and advice and in the signatures of a lot you will find links to other sites just click on them Here

are 2 I found very good to start you off whyquit.com and woofmang.com

Read, read and then read some more as the more you read and learn about why you smoked and about your addiction the easier your quit will be

This link is good for the psychological part of quitting whyquit.com/whyquit/A_Sympt...

Post often to let us know how you're doing, to rant, rave have a moan whatever you like pretty much anything goes on here OK

Love

Marg
