Hi all...I was introduced to this site by a friend. I am on my 37th day (quit date 28th September) of non smoking and doing good. I am on clear 25mg 16hour clear patches and the occasional microtab but now dont bother with the microtabs. I work from home so it has been difficult on my own to give up. I joined a NHS non smoking group in Bristol with like-minded people and since then never looked back. My determination is my family and especially my 6 year old who wants me to stop. What a great incentive. I also realised that I was spending about £2000 a year which is ridiculous. Started buying things for myself now with the money I have saved. Why didnt I dod this earlier. Oh yeah also go to the gym 3 times a week. I thought being healthy outside as well as in will be another great incentive. Sorry for the long intro.

Hi Paul :D

Well done you already in month 2 on 37 days that's great

There is no need to apologise that introduction was fine you don't apologise for anything on here except if you're deliberately rude to other members OK

Below is my standard welcome and advice post which I try and give all new members I realise that some of it you'll already know or have read but you may still find it helpful

Welcome to the forum and well done on the decision to quit possibly one of the most important you will ever make and you will be losing nothing but you will regain control of your life and that has to be good

You will find all the help and support you need on here as we all help each other just like a family we are here for you every step of the way cheering the good days and sympathising with the bad but the good far outweigh the bad

Read the posts on here you will find a lot of tips and advice and in the signatures of a lot you will find links to other sites just click on them Here

are 2 I found very good to start you off whyquit.com and woofmang.com

Read, read and then read some more as the more you read and learn about why you smoked and about your addiction the easier your quit will be

This link is good for the psychological part of quitting whyquit.com/whyquit/A_Sympt...

Post often to let us know how you're doing, to rant, rave have a moan whatever you like pretty much anything goes on here OK

Love

Marg

Welcome Paul - and congrats on your quit so far.

I'm still newish here and just left the month 2 room for the heady heights of month 3.

I've found everyone on here really helpful - as I'm sure you will.

Cheers

Hey Brizzle Paul :D

Yea It's amazing how much money can be saved. I realised I was spending £80 a week cos I was a very heavy smoker on something I rarely , if ever enjoyed.Madness!

Welcome, Paul, and well done on getting to your second month already! Have a little one, too.... almost 6 and I tell you, I have enjoyed being a mom ever so much more not having to manage my addiction on top of it all. Great to have you.
