Hi everyone! Im 21 and in Scotland. Ive been a smoker since I was 14 I stopped when I was pregnant but when my little boy was 6 weeks old I started smoking again - worst decision ever!
This is now my 4th day of being smoke free! Im using step 2 patches (step 1 made me feel terrible!)
I have been fine with my patches up until last night! Whatever patch my arm is on, my arm feels painfully numb, like someone has gave me a dead arm! I thinking of putting it on the upper part of my foot? Somewhere where there is no hair (ripping them off my arm hurts alot!) Im thinking my arm is hurting because ive had the patch on them for 4 days (I change arm every day)
Anyway...Im babbling on....feeling very sick this morning also which Im wondering is down to the patch
Apart from that im feeling great! Its not been too difficult..Ive got into the mindset of Im on a really long aeroplane flight and Im just gonna have to accept I cant get off and smoke. Ive also got into the mindset of moving from the smoking camp to the non smoking camp..I am a non smoker!
Im blabbering on now, Just thought id say hi! Hope everyone is okay! x

Hi MummyB
Well donw quitting the cigs best decision you will ever make and 4 days so far is brilliant soon it will be 40 days and you will never look back trust me i smoked for donkeys years and i give up over 50 days ago best thing i ever did (well aprt from my kids ) keep it up MummyB wont lie to you some days it will be easy other days it will be dreadful but the good days easily outweigh the bad days be strong you can do this easily
Thanks for the support! Ive not had a bad day yet but now Ive had to stop the patches it might happen! I phoned the chemist I was prescribed them from and the lady told me to stop taking them as I am having a bad reaction (I was shaking, on the verge of being sick and the numbness has moved down my whole arm)
So thats the patch off! Will have to go without until monday (smoking cessation appointment) but I really think I can do it...I no longer feel like I need to do something with my hands & that was a big thing for me
My asthma and allergies have got so much better since stopping too! i feel so healthy, I dont know why I didnt do this earlier...well, I was scared but its amazing how clear headed u feel when u stop
4 days smoke free is great well done you and really pleased your asthma and allergies are so much better already
Sorry you had a bad reaction to the patches maybe if you can't cope wothout anything you could use gum or lozenges or something lots of stuff out there
If you can go until Monday with nothing all the nicotine will be out of your system anyway by then it only takes 3 days
Below is my standard welcome and advice post which I try and give all new members

I'm on the D4 as well, well done this far, I have been using the inhaler, as in the past i to have had a reaction to the patches, i just use one of the cartridges a day, not the 6-12 they recommend, but i only used to smoke light fags with min nic in them.
Good luck on the rest of the week, we will soon be on the month thead

Keep Going all these horrible symptoms will be gone in a couple of days and your chest will feel great you will use your inhaler less and your Asthma will be more manageable, i have asthma and now rarely use it only when i get involved with animals because i am allergic to cats and dog hair but you not smoking will really help your breathing .......
