Hi, this is my first message on here so not really sure what I'm doing. Lol.

Been stopped now for over 6 weeks using patches. I've stopped smoking so many times and always started again so hopefully, hopefully this is my last time of putting myself through all this!

I've been reading all the messages of support and advice and wish everyone the best of luck in finally beating the evil cigs.

Welcome and well done on your quit. Don't worry about not knowing what your doing on here, that can be said for most of us:D

A few people will be along later with links to sites you should read and that will really help get your head in the right place to make this your last quit ever.

Six weeks in fab, sounds like the patches are working for you, i did CT so don't know how long till you quit the patches but whatever you are doing it is working so keep it up.

Come along here and moan, complain, enjoy, we are all right behind, beside and in front of you.

Good luck and let us all know how you get on.

Hi Joanna :)

6 weeks + smoke free is great well done you

I also quit many times before this one but this time it has stuck for me as for many on here

Below is my standard welcome and advice post which I try and give all new members

Welcome to the forum and well done on the decision to quit possibly one of the most important you will ever make and you will be losing nothing but you will regain control of your life and that has to be good

You will find all the help and support you need on here as we all help each other just like a family we are here for you every step of the way cheering the good days and sympathiseing with the bad but the good far outweigh the bad

Read the posts on here you will find a lot of tips and advice and in the signatures of a lot you will find links to other sites just click on them Here are 2 I find very good to start you off whyquit.com and woofmang.com Read, read and then read some more as the more you read and learn about why you smoked and about your addiction the easier your quit will be

This link is good for the psychological part of quitting

whyquit.com/whyquit/A_Sympt...

Post often to let us know how you're doing, to rant, rave have a moan whatever you like pretty much anything goes on here OK

Love

Marg xx

Hi Joanna,

Well done on your quit...I'm in roughly the same place- 7 weeks today.

Most of us find it really helps to read around the sites (Joel's library. Whyquit. Woolmang etc) because the more you read the more shocking it becomes that you ever considered putting one of those things in your mouth in the first place!

Ughhhhh!

Keep going:D

Wow! Thanks so much to all you lovely positive people who have sent messages of support. It's great to know so many people are feeling the benefits of stopping

I've stopped so many times. 1 year was the longest and what has always started me again is either feeling like I'm missing an old pal (cigs) or just the thought that I'm fed up of "trying" as smoking has always just been me.

Kinda feel different this time though as had a bit of a health scare so thinking more along the lines of what kinda pal does that to you? Lol.

Thanks again and good luck to everyone. xxx
