Sorry to hear your having a bad day, hopefully if you keep busy all day you will feel better after you have beaten the monster.

Try the i will not have a fag for 1 hour and then after that hour choose not to have one for the next hour etc etc.

Know we are all here for you and remember just how much you don't want to go through the last 8 days again. We can do this, we are doing this.

You know that having a fag will not make anything better, you know that it will only make everything worse, so chin up, and choose not to smoke today.

The big problem with the mind battles is that we tend to think we are at war with 'it'.. we are actually at war with ourselves.

There is the portion of you that is determined and has a big desire to be free of nicotine and the addiction, and there is still the addicted part of you, the bit you are taking ever step to control that is still full of indecision, doubt, worry and all the negative things.

The addiction itself is courting this 'other you' at the moment, i suppose its your subconscious self that is the other you, but you have the power to change everything.

The main problem at the moment is you experience all the negative things which can come out as emotions. Huge sighs, anger.. the feeling of being isolated sometimes, sometimes sadness.. but up in your head there is fireworks going on. Your subconscious mind is trying to convince the you that is quitting that just one will make everything ok.. and of course it will only be the one.. oh yes yes yes.. just one.. it nags you like heck, and it makes you feel erratic because before long its all you can think of.

But let me stop you right there!!!

YOU are in control of this now, your subconscious is a slave to you, not you a slave to it.. so by maintaining the power position, and being really stubborn with it, and constantly denying it what it asks for .. all the way.. every hour, ever day.. you will eventually get to a point where the mind games that you currently are experiencing, seem far more manageable. Eventually you will reach a moment in time during your quit where you suddenly get the feeling of 'bloody hell this is great now!!', and you relish each and every one of these moments.. those moments soon become entire days.. and the days become weeks.

And all because you stood up to yourself, you put doubt in its place, you put strength on your side, built an iron wall against the part of you that was weaker.. and you come out the winner.

KEEP GOING. Its worth everything you do to stay quit. Every day you will be rewarded for the effort you put in now. So no matter how hard it seems right now, keep strong, stay stubborn, in fact be the most stubborn mule on the planet against this now.. the light will seem so much brighter further into the quit.

i second this!

i havent quite got to the "this is great now!" part - but living in hope!

hope your feeling better this evening trendy.

It can be bloomin exhausing having to last out those periods where it just seems to consume you.

your doing really well though - keep defying the urges - hope its got better for you today.

have you got any tactics at the moment for taking your mind away from the battles when they come?

but just remember one thing you are just not smoking for today & dont stop to think

x take care & keep posting
