Hello all,

Firstly thanks to Stuart and Margaret for remembering.

Well I have finally arrived in the Penthouse!! WOW what a view. Nic, will you please pick those socks up off the floor.:eek:

When I started my quit last year I was a little bit sceptical as to whether I would succeed. (I had tried it dozens of times before and failed miserably.) But this time I planned for the event by making an appointment at the stop smoking clinic, getting myself a quit buddy at work (she's one year today aswell) and finding this forum. I had also decided that I wanted to try Champix as all the NRT products had not worked well for me in the past. Champix made a massive difference to me and I am sure I would not be here today - a NON SMOKER - without it's help.

I cannot, in any shape or form, see myself going back to smoking. I could not go back to being dictated to where I was going, what I was doing and have to fit my life around getting a fix. Life is so much better as a non smoker in every way and boy do I smell nice:D

Good luck to all the members on this forum, it may seem like hard work at the minute but it is SOOOOO worth it.

As of today I have saved £2518.00 by not smoking 9125 Benny's. I am now the proud owner of a full Pandora charm bracelet by way of "reward".

Life is so much sweeter as a non-smoker - GO FOR IT.

One year and one day........feels great.

I can now officially stop counting days, weeks, months and years. All milestones done and dusted and I can now get on with my life as a non smoker.

Fiona, it is true that seeing other people reach the 1 year milestone helps acheive your own goal and spurs you on, I know it did with me. I was a real hardened smoker of over 34 years practise and I know it sounds very cliche'd but if I can manage it then it really is doable and worthwhile to boot. And saying that there will be 2 new housemates in the Penhouse come Saturday, so another reason to celebrate!!
