As for constantly thinking of cigs and it driving you a bit crazy thinkin constantly, i can only recommend getting your mind focused as much as possible on something else, some engaging television, definitely something of interest to you.

I know its difficult, but stopping smoking particularly in the first days can be tough going, but you need to be stubborn against the thoughts it creates for you, and no matter how much it justifys having one... you refuse it all the way.

In my earliest days of quitting smoking, i went and had several naps when the going got a bit tough, i figured if its gets me through the next hour, its still an hour.

Thanks for the support Jase, its been a c**p day really!!!!:mad: But I am really sticking to my guns and WILL NOT GIVE IN! I did have a sleep earlier on which was lovely and indulgent and have started a good book. :rolleyes:

welcome to the forum. Most of us would agree that day 1 is c**p Time seems to stand still to make it worse! But you get through each day one at a time and before long, it gets easier. So hang in there... day 1 almost done!

none of us would have got as far had we not gone through the first day .. it feels like such a tough call, but the reality is, its a decision you've made for you and by sticking to your guns, you will only see things improve. Many folk have had a rough day 1, but sticking at what they started has turned out to be the best thing they ever did.

Ooh agnas, i forgot to mention, i had quite a bit of chewing gum in for the first few days and that new stuff wrigleys are selling is particularly nice.. you must have seen it near most checkouts.. looks like something other than chewing gum packaging with all the black and striking colours Anyway, it holds it flavour for ages, which is rare.. perfect for chewin on while you get by early days.
