Month 4 (I think) 96 days I'm sure.....

13 weeks and 5 days-does that bring me here ??

I cannot believe I have completed a quarter of the year smoke free----yipeeeeee i love it....

I do have a confession though, how sad but true,,,,,,not posted on here for 3 over 3 weeks now and then it was because i had gone 2 days without the gum and was being a miserable sad moody (almost pmt like) moo moo and so guys guess what???? i am ashamed but i am back on the 2mg gum as i felt iit was that or prozac or benson and hedges????

Hmmm, i know it's not good as i am just as addicted as i was 96 days ago really although i have fought the urge to smoke........the urges come and go and i have even wondered if nicotine was my crutch that hid my miserable moods (or coming of fags has sent me into the menopause!)..

just browsing through all your posts out there and want to write a thank you to everyone regarding my nicotine gum issues and well done to you all who remain smoke free.......xx

cheers Dolly and Moog and good young marg again, I do feel month 3 was like that awful week 3 and i need to see the positive here, not touched a cig at all and i am well happy about that.

You have done brilliant moog and dolly its excellent to see your posts on here.

100 days soon, i almost find it unbelievable, my o/h stopped when i did but he started again a month ago (even though he had his kidney out last august as it was cancerous) and i think that has p'd me of a lot, not cos i want one but cos he's so stupid lighting up again! Still i will stay of them and will be posting on day 100 !!

Hi Dee Dee

Hope you get a real boost and a buzz from 100 days, I know I did.

I cant advise on the gum because I was an inhalator user. I am sure you will get off them when you feel ready.

Sorry to hear about your partner. My DH gave up the day after I did but has managed to stay quit, I dont know what it would be like if he was to start again.

Keep it up.

Hi Dee Dee,

just take the gum at your own pace and try not to fret about it. Nearly 100 days! Thats most exciting! I found the month three thing quite hard too, the thing I learnt in that month was the ability to ignore any cravings I got. I still get them, I just ignore the 'wriggly' feeling and continue on my way!

Lorraine! We are the same quit date. Well done to you on 4 months!

Lorraine: Well done on the 4 months, that's great.

Dee Dee: Better gum than B & H!!! Congrats for the 97 days, plenty of people have found it tricky coming off NRT, but in the end we all have to. Pick your day, be prepared to be a grump for a few days and while you are think of it as "nasties" leaving the body or healing!

Be mentally prepared and it will be OK.

Best of luck

Nic

Hi DeeDee, congratulations on 97/98 days quit, almost 100 days that is a fantastic achievement well done!

As for the nicotine gum, im using lozengers, im 91 days quit and keep trying to stop the nrt altogether but am struggling a bit with it, i know eventually i will do it, but for me at the moment i am happy to just be without cigs and somewhere amongst all the reading and advice from everyone on here, i will believe in myself that little bit more to stop the nrt altogether, but you shouldnt feel ashamed, be proud of how far you have come and keep smiling you are doing bloody fantastic!
