Made a major balls up, I somehow started smoking like last weekend, have been having a couple of roll ups a day. I went to not have one today, ended up in a right mood over something that wouldn't normally make me that mad and had one. I've broke my resolve arghhhhhhhhhh, should I read AC's book again to get my head back in place?
Help me please??????: Made a major balls up... - No Smoking Day
Help me please??????
Hi Hadenough
Sorry to read this as you'd done so well
Yes have a read of Allen carr also the posts and links on here there are a couple in my signature it will all help you get your mind set right again and then when you're ready you'll be able to restart your quit
You know you can do this after all you already did
Learn from your mistake and you won't make it again

Yes you should, and also read up on whyquit.com and quitsmokingonline too.
Use the mnemonic N.O.P.E
Not
One
Puff
Ever
Its a slippery slope that I and many others have been on in the past. Either you smoke or you don't its not about volume. If you smoke, the volume will always build up to where you where before anyway.
The objective here should always be to become a Non Smoker, not a light smoker or occasional smoker as both will lead you back to a fully fledged smoker before you know it.
Learn to despise smoking, and not see quitting as depriving yourself. That way you will not feel as inclined to relapse. (That was the key for me)
Most of all remember that smoking is just feeding your addiction to nicotine, that addiction never ends we just choose to stop feeding it. If you start to feed it again then it takes control again, as you have experienced. We can not return to the very early days of smoking when we could take it or leave it, they are gone forever.
Don't dwell on this hiccup, just start over and do it right next time.
All the best
Nic
Thanks guys, I am soooo pee'd with myself, I joined an athletics club, I have been running half marathons and then I do something so stupid.
I am like this  today hehe
You will soon be like this Promise
Moving on
Hi Hadenough.
I know we beat ourselves up when we trip up but if you pick yourself up straight away & get back on it that's a great decision. I have been told I tend to beat myself up too much over negative things instead of patting myself on the back for what I have acheived & it's true.
I know you can do this. Keep smiling.
Love. G. x
Thank you so much, I am now day 2 and feel fairly calm and confident that I don't need to go back to it. MY concern is I am going to a music festival this weekend, I am hoping I don't forget not to smoke while drunk
Hi Hadenough
Great you're back on the wagon on day 2 well done you
As for the music festival no problems just don't get drunk
Seriously though watch how much you drink as booze and a fag go together like strawberries and cream and have been the cause of many a slip for new quitters

Good to see your back not smoking, I was always like that, just 1 more won't hurt! It is a pain in the a*** but we can fight that evil monster that controls us. I too will miss smoking and drinking at the same time, they go hand in hand but it has to be done. Just think of all the £££s we can save and most important we will be taking control of our lives again and saving it from further damage.
