So sad

Just had the news that my dear friend passed away this evening, 44 years old and the lung cancer that they thought had been cleared claimed another victim. He will be missed so much by all of his friends and family - he was so unique and so positive about life even when he knew he was dying. I last saw him on Monday and he was so pleased that I was still not smoking. So this is not just for me but also for my friend who I hope knew how much he was loved.

Theres so much I want to say to you but I feel like its best kept short, just to say cancer has taken away some of my loved ones and my promise has been to stop smoking, its taken a few goes but now i've quit for good.

Very sad, and quite sobering that he was so young.

I think it was you that said something the other day along the lines of:-

The greatest tribute we can pay to the memory of those that we loose to smoking related disease is to quit once and for all.

Its so so true.

Thanks for all your kind messages, and Nic you are right, it was me who posted that and I will stay strong and not smoke. My friend is now in a better place and if those we love leave a memory in our hearts then they never truly die.
