More spots than a teenager!!!

Is it just me or is coming out in spots normal when stopping smoking? It's been 10 days since I stopped but this morning I found myself covered in spots - all over my back and shoulders and a few on my face. Even when I was a teenager I was lucky enough to not get many spots - and I'm 35 now!!!

The only thing I can think of that could have caused it is stopping smoking. I was really hoping that I would feel better pretty quickly (be able to breathe properly, no longer have a permanent chesty cough, have brighter skin etc etc) and this is getting me down.

Not to mention the fact that I am suffering pretty weird things with my bowels! I'm usually super-regular, but I've had bad constipation for over a week, which has needed laxatives, not to mention really bad wind! I have a good diet and have never been constipated before.

Please tell me I'm not the only one..!

Ha ha - quitzits - love it! I suppose I should see it as a positive thing - my body getting rid of all the crap that has built up over the years. Haven't coughed up any gunk (which, I know it's weird to say, I kind of hoped I would to get rid of some of the rubbish on my lungs) so maybe the zits are my body's way of getting rid. Bring it on!

I had a few spots on my face during week1 and the start of week 2, they have cleared up now.

Good news is, two weeks after stopping smoking, the spots have started to clear up. Bad news is I have awful cystitis... Don't know if it's anything to do with stopping smoking, but the bladder is the last port of call for most toxins leaving your body, so maybe...

Only had it mildly a couple of times before - this time I've been really poorly and had to get antibiotics. Really feeling dreadful... can't wait to get well and get to the gym - hoping my clearer lungs will be noticably different next time I'm on the treadmill...

Ha ha! Yeah, never knew my bowels had it in them! Would be much easier to stop smoking in summer when we spend more time outside ;) My boyfriend thinks it's hilarious but, being brought up 'proper'!, I find it really embarassing... spending a lot of time running to the bathroom to, erm, let it all out! Still, I'm sure it smells far less bad than the lingering smell of stale smoke.

At the weekend I washed a load of clothes - and plan to rewash all my wardrobe, even the clean clothes because I've become aware that everything smells of smoke.

Just now need to find a way to get rid of the smell of stale smoke in my home... never noticed it before but it hits me everytime I walk through the front door now I'm getting my sense of smell back.

I came out in spots too but they are gone now, I'm going into week 5 tomorrow. Also have the constipation and wind problem so you're not alone. My friend thinks my skin looks so much better but I think my eyesight has improved as I can now see my crows feet clearer!!!

Well done on your quit - keep it up x

Ha ha - I hate to admit it but one of the things that really persuaded me to stop smoking once and for all was the fact that crows feet were appearing. I've thought of saving up for botox but it seemed pointless while I was puffing away on 20 fags a day. Now I'm putting aside a fiver a day for my botox fund instead of on cigarettes ;)
