Husband is in a foul mood this morning and has now gone to Tesco to do food shopping. He is getting pi$$ed off trying to get to grips with my new diet allowances (he does all the cooking) and then I think I got the TRUE reason why he's in a bad mood.
We usually have an Easyjet day trip to Amsterdam around this time of year to boost the tobacco cupboard. We would pay about £50 for the flights but save around £500 in tax by the time we bought the fags & baccy.
Anyway, I've not organised one this year because I don't need it. Our convrsation this morning went as follows:
"AND thats my last pouch of baccy"
"So what are you going to do?"
"I don't know but I don't fancy spending £50 a month"
"Take a packet of my fags then I don't need them" (check me out, non-smoker:D)
"No they give me a sore throat"
Bang - out of the door. Sooo, watch this space, is he going to do it cold turkey? Buy some? Go back to the champix he has in the cupboard, or the fake fag?
Will be interesting but I'm dreading being on the other end of the moods.

My partner quit one week after me this time. Said he dont even think about it then every now and then gose in a mood and says Im going to start smoking again. I say why he says it ok for you im thinking about it all the time. MEN Hehexxxxx
Made me laugh that only two women have chosen to reply - wonder why?
Yes of course he could organise his own trip but he's not that organised. And of course the earlier you book the flights the cheaper it is so he's screwed now and will finish his supplies at the end of the week.
I'm just mentally preparing myself for a roller coster of a ride in the next week or so.....
Linda - I'm so glad your other half has stuck it out with you - but men are just severe drama queens aren't they - like children always looking for brownie points for some trivial little acomplishment.
BTW - only applies to mine - I'm sure all the men on this forum are NOTHING like that....
My husband also smokes roll-ups usually but had no qualms about smoking my tailors if he was low on baccy or had run out. This used to infuriate me as firstly tailors are 3 times the price of roll-ups and secondly he could easily smoke 10 of my fags in an evening, thus leaving me short and having to buy further supplies first thing in the morning-usually on the school run-how classy!
Now I'm a non-smoker he's finding it nigh on impossible to plan ahead (must be a man thing) and often runs out of baccy and/or rizlas leading to a dash to the local garage or 24 hour supermarket if it's really late!
I just marvel at the lengths he is prepared to go to in order to feed his addiction and can't help but feel a teensy bit smug that I don't have to do that anymore. I do feel sorry for him as well-one of my main reasons for stopping was hating that 'desperate for a fag' feeling.
Never said perfect - organised maybe....but not perfect :p
Margaret - yes he is still not confronting the fact that it will happen.
I've told him he can have the 40 loose fags I've got open but he cannot split any of the 200 cartons I've still got as I'm selling them a bit at a time.
Wonder how long it will be before they are all gone.
