Cravings bad again tonight-worse than yesterday- can totally empathise with SteveButa. Feel like there's no end in sight to feeling normal. Denise66 -are you still there? -have you still quit? Hopefully you're out for the evening or something. We quit the same day as you know and I kind of latched on to you and thought- If you can do it so can I!! No post from you today though that I can see.

Joanneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!

lol im still here hun, funny i was posting as you posted, didnt see that.

Having a bad day today hun and have been pacing the floors trying to get the idea of popping up the shops out of my head. I'm a bit gutted that i feel like this today as i thought i had got through the worst, in a way its nice to know that its normal and that you have it to although its not if you know what i mean.

I shall keep at it hun, dont give in as i know we can do it, we can stay strong for each other and by sharing the good times and bad we will get there im sure. Not bloody easy though is it......... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Thinking of you hun and hope it passes soon, i may have an early night and get rid of it that way lol

Denise

Thanks Shabba. For some reason a padded cell seems quite appealing right now. I know you shouldn't joke about it but I am feeling rather emotional right now. I want to be in your shoes one day and help newbies like me. Hope I will get there x

Hi Joanne - I want to be your shoes! I am on Day 4 of quitting and I am really looking forward to having completed a week as I know I will have got through weekdays and a weekend - both of which have triggers for the dreaded ciggie!

Please keep strong - you are an inspiration to me as you are just ahead of me!

Thanks Jerry-Lee. Wow- Day 4 is great. Don't turn back now, it's so pointless. Stay strong - hey my craving just subsided! That's weird. Anyhow, I can be another reason for you to stay quit and you can be another reason for me. Get through this one weekend and you will be there. I know you've got it in you to do it and then you can let us know the best bits and the worst bits xx

I NEVER tried to tell myself I didn't want to smoke, I always told myself I knew I REALLY did want to smoke but wasn't going to,

Totally agree with Catwoman.

I hate that feeling of wanting to go up to the shops though I know what you mean. A couple of days before quitting I went to my 24 hour newsagents and deliberately embarrassed myself by just being over friendly and chatting to an annoying extent so that I wouldn't want to go in there anytime soon should the urge strike me. Extreme times call for extreme measures!! I think the early days are about buying time in a way!

Blessings all around....

... to all of us who are virtually holding hands (so our fingers cannot grab fags...) in this giant void of swirling tar and nicotine vortex that we are all climbing and crawling out of........ Kind of reminds me of LOTR (2 T's) when Gandalf tells Aragorn to look to the EAST at sunrise.... the steep hill the R of Rohan come down on is the hill WE must collectively climb to see the sun and FREEDOM!!!!!!!

A good annalogy (I know it's spelt wrong, but 1 "n" would make the forum filter out the first 4 letters!). That hill can be flattened somewhat by understanding what is waiting for you just over the next rise ;)

Research and educate - I know we keep going on about it, but thats because it really is THAT important. We want you all to make it to the top!

An interesting graph! How strange that there is a peak on day 7 although I can fully understand the theory that we use ciggies to celebrate and that would celebrate a week of quitting. I read in one of the threads (to prove that reading and eduacting really does help!) that there is a feeling of 'well done me - I've done a week - it was hard but didn't I do well. Now let's get back to normal - ie spark up a ciggie!

I can definitely understand that type of feeling - it is just how I have failed in the past!

Also I did use ciggies as a 'reward'. I would have one after a day at work or when I had finished the ironing etc etc!

Then a friend pointed out that giving yourself lung cancer/ heartdisease/bronchitis is not really a great way to reward yourself!!!
