OH bother!

To put it mildly.

Back in UK and it took less than 24 hours and I fell off the wagon.

It's taken a lot to come on here and admit it. I feel such a plonker.

Reading through the back back numbers, though, has made me see there's only one way to go.

I may not be a good example to any new starter...(Sorry!)...but, sad or not, I am going to keep coming back to day 1 until I never have to again.

So off with the old and on with the new...and a very Merry Christmas to all you forum freinds!

Bill:)

I am going to keep coming back to day 1 until I never have to again.

Some of the quitters on here make it look so easy that it's easy to forget that for some people this is a really difficult thing. Also that nearly all of us have tried and failed many times in the past.

Well done for owning up, coming back and trying again.

Never quit quitting :)

Well what is done is done.

I really can't believe that I am doing so well given my previous track record so I completely understand. I'm currently going through a nagging phase where at the back of my mind there's the feeling of well done Nic you've done well now lets get back to normality, I'm not going to falter but its there!

Anyway Bill what's the course of action? What is going to make it different next time?

Cheers

Nic

Bill did you hit a glitch (ie brief interlude of smoking a couple of fags) or did you restart for a few days?

Unbelievable

:(Huh!

I've just written a l-o-n-g post and it wouldn't send so I've lost it.

I refuse to believe that this has some symbolic significance!

I've been stuttering - stopping and starting...so now for a new stint of education to get my head straight and then off again.

Ashamed to be such a tedious sequential quitter...it's truely pathetic!

Thanks for all the people around on here who are doing well and still posting.

It's great to have a place to come with my sorry tale!

I'll post a start date when i've done the reading.

All the best for 2009 to all ...old and new quitters..who are making this journey into freedom...

Come on Bill,we are ready for you......:D

Hi Bill

Quitting isnt an easy thing nor is it an overnight thing, none of us on here have quit we are all just in the process of quitting - wether we are quit for 1 year or 5 months or 9 days - its all the same , it only takes one puff and effectively the quit is diminished. So please come join us :)

You should regroup and gather your thoughts on what made you go back to smoking and be prepared in your mind first of all on how to deal with those triggers when they come round again.

You seem determined to quit and you are going about it the right way , have you tried doing the online program at ffsonline.org? its an excellent program to gather preparation for your quit Also the website whyquit.com is full of articles and info on the nicotine addiction which hooked us to smoking. We are addicts.....And as such, we can never take one..not one smoke. One smoke leads back to full blown smoking. . It's an all or nothing proposition , so make the jump when you are ready and prepared and let us know how you get on.

Im sure people will be here when you need them .
